Thomas is a Distinguished Engineer at IBM Collaboration Solutions, working on advancing social business through IBM Connections, and integration of its social networking and collaboration capabilities with WebSphere Portal, IBM Enterprise Content Management, and other IBM capabilities. Prior to focusing on social networking and collaboration, Thomas was the lead architect for the WebSphere Portal Platform, from its inception in 2000 until 2004. He initiated and led the portal standards Java Portlet API and OASIS WSRP, and initiated and led the Web 2.0 initiative for WebSphere Portal.
