Aggiornare Domino e DB2: attenzione

Daniele Vistalli si chiede quale sia la versione di DB2 da usare con Domino, ed un commento di Roberto Boccadoro chiarisce alcuni aspetti sui quali è bene fare attenzione:

• Vanno mantenuti allineati gli aggiornamenti di Domino e DB2 ovvero chi usa Domino 7.x deve usare DB2 8.2.2 mentre chi usa Domino 8.x deve usare DB2 9.1.0
• La procedura di aggiornamento di Domino dalla R7 alla R8, quando si usa lo storage su DB2 richiede l'aggiornamento contestuale di DB2 alla 9.1.0 con l'attenzione di usare Domino per aggiornare i database attestati su DB2, in pratica è necessario replicare sul server Domino le tabelle attestate su DB2, quindi aggiornare DB2, aggiornare Domino e riportare su DB2 i database DB2-enabled. L'intera procedura è descritta nell'help di amministrazione e, come ha fatto Boccadoro, la riportiamo qui:

1.        Use the Create Replica tool in the Domino Administrator to create NSF database replicas of the DB2-enabled Notes databases. Be sure to create the replica on a Domino server configured with NSF as the default datastore.
2.        Copy the NSF replicas to backup storage.
3.        Remove the DB2 enablement from the Domino server.ì
4.        With the Domino server running without DB2 enablement, drop Domino's DB2 database by entering this command from the DB2 Command Line Processor (CLP):  
DB2 DROP DB
5.        Upgrade DB2 to version 9.1 and verify the Domino 7.X server.
6.        Upgrade Domino to version 8.0 and verify that the upgrade was successful.
7.        From the Domino Administrator client, enable the Domino server to communicate with the DB2 server. Create a new DB2 database for DB2 enabled Notes databases.
8.        Restore the backup NSFs.
9.        Use compact -p to convert the restored NSFs back to DB2 enabled Notes databases, by entering this command from the Domino server console:  
load compact -p
10.        Use IBM® Lotus® Domino=99 Designer to create and populate DAVs (as necessary).
