Vi sto parlando della sessione che è appena finita e che aveva come titolo “ Lotus Foundations: The "Everything and the Kitchen Sink" Solution for Small Business” tenuta dalle bravissime Jane Wilson, Senior Product Manager, Lotus Foundations e
Julie Reed, Senior Development Manager, Lotus Foundations. Tra le altre cose ho avuto il piacere di incontrare nuovamente Ozzy Papic, che conoscete già da tempo.
La sessione (slide e demo) è stata molto piacevole per la padronanza della due LF Stars (così le vorrei definire) e vi riporto velocemente le novità presenti nella 1.1 (e che ho avuto modo di provare avendo partecipato al beta program) e quello che succederà con la 1.2 (entro fine anno).
La considerazione che mi è venuta spontanea, al termine della sessione, è che ci stanno lavorando seriamente e con tempi di risposta degni del termine “veramente veloci” e leggerete, di seguito, che alcune delle domande che mi avevate fatto al Dominopoint Day 2, oggi hanno una risposta. SI può partire con una pianificazione del nuovo business basato su Lotus Foundations. Ecco ora i punti più importanti emersi dalla sessione.
Lotus Foundations Start 1.1
➔ Provides Lotus Foundations customers the benefit of a stable Linux-based system while enjoying the ability to support the wide array of Microsoft Windows-based applications.
➔ Provide VMware Server technology as an add on to Lotus Foundations Start to host any guest operating system supported by VMware Server 2.
➔ If there is an unplanned Microsoft Windows outage, the business can still access its operating system, virtual private network and server without rebooting Lotus Foundations.

Continuo il mio LS2009 con una sessione sulle novittà 8.5.( intanto sto postando) per poi ritornare su Lotus Foundations, per una sessione di Ozzy dal titolo “IBM Lotus Foundations Start: Create a New Market for Your Application Using Software Appliances”.
