Nota: IBM/Lotus sconsigliano l'installazione di Lotus Notes nelle directory controllate dal sistema, ossia dal Terribile UAC, ma se proprio volete installare in Programmi i Programs Files è consigliato disabilitare appunto il UAC (Versioni Lotus Notes Supportate da R 7.0.2 in su. La R6 non supporta Vista in nessuna Release).
Quindi se cercate il vero Notes.ini (sempre colpa di UAC) provate in questo percorso (attenzione che non è visibile, usare Run e digitare a mano le cartelle)
c:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Lotus\Notes\...

Windows VistaTM
For Notes 8, the Microsoft Windows Vista
operating system must be run with UAC turned off. Notes 8 was tested
in the following configuration:
- Turn User Account Control (UAC)
off
- Launch MSCONFIG from the Run menu.
- Click on the 'Tools' tab. Scroll down and click "Disable UAP" (Note: "UAP" is expected to be changed to "UAC" in a later build).
- Press the "Launch" button.
- A command window will open. When the command is finished running, you can close the window.
- Close MSCONFIG; reboot the computer for changes to apply.
Note: You can re-enable UAC by selecting the "Enable UAP" line from the 'Tools' tab, and then clicking on the "Launch" button. - Install as Adminstrator (using Vista default policy settings) to the default path C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes.
- Run as a Standard User (using Vista default policy settings). If you do not get desktop launch icons for User, create them by dragging the Notes Mail shortcut from the Start menu.

il mio parere è che UAC più che una feature sia una "fregature": vista è diventato usabile appena l'ho disabilitato.
Ma come è possibile che per un corretto utilizzo di Notes 8 sia da disabilitare una feature che Microsoft ha inserito per migliorare la sicurezza?!? Mi sembra assurdo.
